1. Definition: The Ministry of Spiritual Life shall be responsible for all matters pertaining to the spiritual life of this congregation.  It shall have authority to plan and execute programs in those areas within the current budget of the congregation.

2. Membership: It shall consist of four members elected by the congregation at its annual election meeting.  It shall organize and conduct its business in accordance with the directives of ARTICLE VIII, Section C of the Constitution.  When a member also participates in the Chancel Choir, this member will refrain from voting on issues effecting said choir.  Church staff positions of Organist and Worship Music Leader shall not be held by a member of the Ministry of Spiritual Life and conversely.

3. Tasks: This ministry shall be specifically responsible for the following tasks and others that may arise from time to time that are in keeping with its basic definitions. To accomplish these tasks the ministry may from time to time enlist other members from the congregation to assist. The ministry will work with Cabinet officers to identify potential candidates for open ministry positions.

a. Schedule worship services

b. Communion schedule and service arrangements

c. Altar care

d. Oversee creation and publication of worship bulletins

e. Coordinate order of worship with Pastor

f. Music ministry and music staff supervision and evaluation

g. Ushers

h. Seasonal decoration

i. Devotional materials

j. Guest preachers, vacation supply, interim pastor

k. Lay leadership training and scheduling for worship services

l. Acolyte scheduling and training.

m. Related lay staff supervision and evaluation – and such related lay staff shall not be a member of the ministry.
